Wazzzzzzup fellow rebels!

We are the 2019 Unrestricted Interns.

We spent the spring semester perfecting our resumes and jazzing up our cover letters all to go through the process of applying, interviewing, and crossing-our-fingers in hopes to intern with ad agencies in the valley and beyond.

For seven of us, we got through the interview process and were given the amazing opportunity to intern at Against this summer.

Hear the word ‘intern’, and your mind may imagine a young and eager soul rushing into the office with a 20oz, triple shot, 1/3 decaf, nonfat, no foam, soy breve cappuccino with three pumps of sugar-free vanilla and two pumps chocolate for the boss.

That’s not the case here. Founders, Jennie Myers and Brad Weigle set out to create an internship experience that challenges, mentally provokes, and provides a safe space for independent brains to think outside of the box. We get to create and learn about the industry on the daily (no coffee runs included).

We have already learned what goes into a real life ad campaign, how to fly a drone, how to work with real clients, and the art of producing something relevant, stirring, and brave.

Throughout all of this process, we’ve learned a lot about each other. Scroll down to see some of the highlights…

Where do you feel your most alive / "at your peak"?

As an outdoor enthusiast, I feel most alive when I'm in the mountains. Being able to escape reality and lose cell phone service makes me one happy camper!

Favorite dog, because who doesn't love dogs?

PUGS are my favorite type of dog, without a doubt! I've never owned a pug, but I just feel like pugs have so much personality...they're basically mini humans!!! If you're not already following @itsdougthepug, I highly encourage you to. Doug the pug is my spirit animal.
